Don’t Forget to Make a List

Surviving the death of a spouse or parent is a traumatic event.  During this difficult period, families are often thrust into a confusing web of notifying pensions administrators, the government, banks, investment companies, insurance companies among others.  Having a summary of these institutions, contacts and account numbers can make this consuming process more straightforward.

Imagine that you had a life insurance policy at Empire Life that you purchased in 1978 on the birth of your second daughter.  How would your family know to follow up with Empire?

This is an idea that was brought to me by clients that I have recommended and incorporated into my life.  Thank you B and E!  Below is a sample document to give you an idea of what it would look like.  Yours will be fined tuned and unique to your situation.  Many send this to their executor annually or when they leave on a plane.

If you would like help, or a little push, to inventory your financial affairs please let me know.
